Recovery: the side-sleeping plot twist

The grafted zone is your sides — so the rules mirror-image a BBL: side-lying banned ~3 weeks, while sitting, back and front are completely free.

The timeline

1

Week 1 — the loud phase

Bruising and swelling at donor (waist/flanks) and graft zones; lateral-protection garment on; walking from day one; back- or front-sleeping behind a pillow barricade. Desk work from ~day 5–7; flying home day 5–7 after review — sitting is fine, so the flight needs no choreography.

2

Weeks 2–3 — socially normal

Fine in clothes; swelling retreating (you'll look fuller than final — by design); the no-side-pressure law still ruling. Body pillow keeps side-sleepers honest.

3

Weeks 3–6 — freedoms return

Side-sleeping back with clearance; exercise rebuilds — side-loading work (abductors, side planks) last; garment weans on schedule.

4

Months 3–6 — the verdict

Resorption done: the contour you see is living tissue and stays. Photos compared, satisfaction judged, any top-up discussed now — never sold upfront.

Protect the graft

No side-lying, no tight lateral pressure, no smoking (nicotine starves new fat), stable weight through settling. That's the whole law.

Why panic happens at week 3

The deliberate over-correction resorbs on schedule — the contour reduces, which unprepared patients read as failure. It's the plan working; the calendar article walks through it month by month.

Photo reviews from home

Scheduled check-ins as swelling settles, direct answers to "is this normal?", and the 3–6 month verdict reached together — wherever home is.

A recovery that fits real life

Sitting free, desk work in a week, one banned position — send your dates and the plan wraps around them.
